Persona is a dating app, which means the trust you place in us is the product. Here's how we protect your data and keep the community safe.

The short version

Encrypted in transit and at rest, access-controlled at the row level, minimal data collected, sensitive media kept private, content actively moderated, and everything deletable on demand.

Data protection

  • Encryption in transit: all traffic between the app and our servers uses TLS/HTTPS.
  • Encryption at rest: your data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption at rest.
  • Row-level security: our database enforces per-user access rules, so people can only reach the data they're allowed to — not everyone else's.
  • Private media: verification selfies and chat media are stored in private buckets and served through short-lived signed links, not public URLs.
  • Least privilege: administrative access is limited and audited.

Account & authentication

  • Sign in with Apple or email. Credentials are handled by our authentication provider and never stored in plain text.
  • The verified badge can only be granted by our review process — it can't be forged from the app.
  • Optional on-device biometric lock (Face ID) to protect the app on your phone.

Community safety

  • 18+ only, enforced at signup and on our servers.
  • Content moderation: photos and messages are automatically screened for objectionable content before they reach anyone.
  • Report & block: you can report a specific message, photo, or person, and block anyone, in one tap. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior — including removing content and terminating accounts — typically within 24 hours.

Data minimization & control

  • We collect only what's needed to run the service, and we don't sell your data or track you across other apps.
  • You can export a copy of your data, and permanently delete your account and data, from within the app at any time.

Reporting a vulnerability

If you believe you've found a security issue, we want to hear from you. Please email security@persona-us.com with the details and steps to reproduce. We'll acknowledge your report and work with you to resolve it. Please don't access or modify other users' data, and give us reasonable time to fix an issue before disclosing it publicly.
