Community Guidelines

Effective July 4, 2026 · Questions?

Persona only works if it feels safe and real. Behind every avatar is an actual person hoping to connect, and that only happens when everyone can trust the space. These guidelines are the rules everyone on Persona agrees to — plain and simple. They apply to your profile, your avatar, your photos, and every message you send.

The short version

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. If you post nudity, harass someone, threaten, hate, scam, or lie about who you are, we remove the content — and we remove the person responsible. No warnings owed, no second chances required.

1. What's not allowed

"Objectionable content" isn't a vague idea here — it's a defined line. The following are not permitted anywhere on Persona, in any profile, avatar, photo, voice note, or message:

  • Nudity, sexually explicit, or pornographic content — including partial nudity, sexual acts, and content meant to be sexually gratifying.
  • Harassment, bullying, or threats — targeting, intimidating, stalking, or threatening anyone.
  • Hate speech or discrimination — attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
  • Violence or the promotion of illegal acts — glorifying, threatening, or organizing violence, or encouraging illegal activity.
  • Sexual content involving minors or any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — absolute zero tolerance. We remove it immediately, ban the account, preserve evidence, and report it to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
  • Spam, scams, solicitation, or commercial promotion — including advertising, fundraising, sex work, and financial solicitation.
  • Impersonation, fake profiles, or catfishing — pretending to be someone you're not, including using someone else's photos.
  • Sharing others' private information — posting anyone's contact details, address, or private data without consent.
  • Attempts to circumvent safety features — evading blocks, bans, filtering, or verification.
  • Use by anyone under 18, or by registered sex offenders — Persona is strictly adults only, and registered sex offenders are not permitted to use the Service.

2. The short version, in practice

Do
  • Be yourself — real photos, an honest profile, your genuine voice.
  • Treat people the way you'd want to be treated.
  • Take "no" for an answer and move on graciously.
  • Report anything that feels off — you're helping everyone.
  • Keep it 18+ and consensual, always.
Don't
  • Post nudity, sexual, or pornographic content.
  • Harass, threaten, demean, or pressure anyone.
  • Lie about who you are or use someone else's photos.
  • Spam, scam, solicit, or advertise.
  • Share anyone's private information without consent.

3. How we enforce

In short

You report it, a real person reviews it, and we act — typically within 24 hours — by removing the offending content and ejecting the user responsible.

Enforcement is not automated guesswork. When content is flagged, a human reviews it against these guidelines. If it crosses the line, we remove the offending content and eject the user who posted it, usually within 24 hours of the report. Serious cases — like CSAM — are actioned immediately and referred to the authorities.

Safety isn't only after the fact. Throughout Persona you'll find:

  • Filtering that screens content before it reaches you.
  • In-app reporting of any message, photo, or person, at any time.
  • Blocking that instantly and permanently cuts off contact.

4. How to report or block

Reporting takes seconds and is always available:

  • Report or block a person: open a conversation, tap the menu (⋯), then choose Report or Block.
  • Report a specific message or photo: long-press it and choose Report.
  • Prefer email? Write to safety@persona-us.com and our safety team will take it from there.

Blocking is immediate — the person can no longer see you, message you, or match with you. Reports are confidential; the person you report is never told who flagged them.

5. Appeals

We work hard to get enforcement right, but if you think we got it wrong, tell us. Email support@persona-us.com and a member of our team will take a fresh look at the decision.

These guidelines work alongside our broader safety tools and legal terms. To learn more about staying safe on Persona, visit the Safety Center, and read the full Terms that govern your use of the app.
